e-Alerts FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are eAlerts?

eAlerts are automated messages, created by you, sent by e-mail or text message about the status of your account with The RiverBank.

What type of accounts do I need to use eAlerts?

You can establish eAlerts for Checking, Savings, Certificate of Deposit or Loan accounts.

Is there a cost for eAlerts?

No.  eAlerts is a free service.

What are the system requirements for eAlerts?

You must be an Online Banking customer to use our eAlert service.  If you would like eAlerts sent to your e-mail address, you must have a valid e-mail address.  If you would like eAlerts sent as a text message to your cell phone, you must have text messaging service from your service provider.

  

Are my account numbers protected in the e-mail?

Account numbers are masked to protect the full account number.  An e-mail will be sent to you from statements@theriverbank.com.

  

How do I change an eAlert I have set up?

While logged on to Online Banking, you will see a section titled "eAlerts".  Click on "eAlerts" then on the number associated with the alert.  This will open the alert so you can make any necessary changes.  Once you have changed the information, click "Submit".

How often are eAlert notifications sent?

Notifications are sent each time the criteria set in the eAlert is met.  Some eAlerts are set up to check current day activity and balances every 1.5 hours. Other eAlerts are set to send after the nightly processing is complete.  See eAlert details.

Are eAlerts safe?

eAlerts are unsecured messages sent directly to the electronic address you provide.  While no password or account number information is sent via eAlerts, the message may include some information about your accounts.  Anyone with access to your       e-mail or other electronic devices will be able to view the contents of these alerts.

What if I need to change my e-mail address?

You can update your e-mail address for Online Banking by choosing User Options.  Make the changes necessary and "Submit".  You will need to maintenance each eAlert in which you have choosen e-mail notification with your new e-mail address.

Can I receive eAlerts at more than one electronic address?

Yes.  You can specify as many e-mail or other electronic addresses as you like.
